Well, as most of you already know, I will be leaving REM on October 26th.
The choice to go back to school/make a career change so late in the "game" was not an easy decision. I thought about it over many months and decided that if I don't follow my passion now, I probably never will. Things would come up in life (like marriage, or kids, or moving perhaps) that would prevent me from taking the leap, so I felt like if I didn't do what my heart was telling me to do now, I would regret it later.
I have worked here at REM for 6 years, and it just so happens that I started on June 6, 2006 --my birthday. I remember feeling really at ease and comfortable with Rob, and Joe right off the bat. (Yup, I was the second employee that Rob hired!) They were so kind, and easygoing. It was exciting starting a new career with a growing, successful company.
I knew that I would enjoy working here. And I was right. However, the time came where I had an urge to pursue something that I never imagined I would do, but all of a sudden seemed like a clear choice.
So, starting in November, I will be attending Hairstyling school in hopes of, one day, owning a successful business of my own. I have gained invaluable experience from REM Web Solutions in many areas that I will take with me and learn from in the future. Thank you to my fellow team members for all of the laughs and fun over the years. I wish everyone here the best!
