It's that time again! The snow is finally starting to melt and the sun is coming out. The weather in Ontario this winter has been almost unbearable for me. I am looking forward to breaking out my spring clothes and enjoying some time outside.
Thankfully I have no springtime allergies, so I was able to get out this past weekend and run. All winter I have been running inside to avoid slipping on ice. Even though the snow was melting and my feet were soaked by the end of it, it was great to get some fresh air.
I am just a beginner with running, but I wanted to make a list of some of the things I used to help me get started and keep me motivated:
1. Fitbit One activity tracker (Find it here)
This step counter/activity monitor has been my main motivator. It has encouraged me to keep moving until I reach my daily goal of 10,000 steps. It is fun to try and "beat" your daily goal.
2. Adidas miCoach Pacer Bundle (Find it here)
This bundle helps me keep track of my heart rate and stride. It helps coach you to increase speed and better your time. Since I am just starting out, it is a great little tool to give me details about my stats.
3. A good water bottle
Since the weather is starting to warm up, it is important to keep hydrated while out in the sun. Whether you are running or not, good hydration is important for staying healthy.
4. Nike Free 4.0 running shoes (Find it here)
Good running shoes are one of the most important parts of your run. Whether you are walking or running, comfortable shoes make all the difference. Shoes are always personal preference; however, I know that my Nike's feel like I'm wearing no shoes at all, yet still give me the support I need.
Now that the nice weather is upon us, what activity are you looking forward to the most?
