Web Developer
REM Web Solutions - Kitchener, ON
REM is looking for a web developer that is ready to prove their skills in all aspects of web development. This is a 6 month contract position that can turn into full time.
Main Responsibilities
- You will report directly to the team lead.
- You will provide full stack programming support to the development team.
- You will assist the design team in producing HTML5 based front end interfaces based on provided design materials.
- You will provide technical support to other members of the team with regard to REM’s products and services.
Preferred Skills
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Prefer a proficiency in ColdFusion or PHP coding.
- Demonstrated proficiency in front end web development such HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and the jQuery JavaScript library.
- Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for carving layered media into HTML5 based interactive interfaces.
- Experience with managing databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL, including efficient data modeling and demonstrated proficiency in efficient query design.
- A firm understanding of software versioning tools such as Git.
- Experience working with various text editors and IDEs such as Sublime Text and Visual Studio.
- A demonstrated understanding of procedural, functional and object-oriented programming techniques.
- An understanding of front end CSS layout technologies such as Bootstrap or Flex.
Additional Responsibilities
- Source, refine and implement third party widgets into working HTML templates.
- Deploy fully working websites onto staging and live servers.
- Build and deploy mobile versions of existing client websites.
- Review and correct code, file names and file structures to maintain company standards across all projects.
- Implement page content on behalf of customers using our content management system.
- Source, crop, resize, optimize, colour correct and implement appropriate stock assets into designs.
- Learn and master various compliance related code updates, such as AODA and SEO updates.
- Learn and master our existing content management system to better inform your design capabilities.
- Learn and master our existing project flow and project management tools to keep your projects on track.
- Perform other web design and web development tasks as assigned from time to time.

Compensation
$40,000 - $60,000 (yearly) depending on experience, skill and accomplishments.
