First off, what is Typography?

When it comes to web design it can seem like typography is the one of the areas left out. Weird, because what are websites without any content, after all?

Whenever people visit a website I have designed, the chances they care much about the illustrations or pictures or even sounds are minimal. Viewers will immediately look at the text.

Visitors like to find what they are looking for right away. That’s why a design that can entice and maintain the interest of the viewer is important. In order to do this, you need to have an appropriate blend of typography and graphics. Another important thing is to be able to fully transmit a message to the visitor and to make them understand whatever it is the company/site is trying to convey.

These reasons are why typography is so important. If the text in a design is too small, or too cramped, or if it irritates the viewer, the page usually won’t get a second chance.

One of the biggest trends in web design right now is to use different typography techniques to add dimension to a site--everything from typography in tag clouds to using fun and funky fonts throughout the site. But make sure that the type and the site work well together- this is very important.
Try to take some time researching some clean typography techniques and apply to your own websites content for a fresh new look.
