This is the first of a multi-part blog on how to improve your search engine rankings (SEO) using WebWiz@rd and other methods.
Part 1 - Keyword Research
1) Identify what the main keywords are that you want to be found by:
You can use Google’s Keyword Analysis tool to help determine which words make the most sense to invest in. Click here to try. Look at the Global and Local Monthly Searches. Keywords that are searched often are worth using.
The example below shows a search for “web design waterloo”. This means that the average local search for that phrase is 91 per month. Since 56% of people search on Google will click through to the first organic (non-paid) result that means of the 91 searches, 51 will be coming to our website if we are number one. You can do this for a number of key words and phrases and add up how much potential traffic you can get to your site.
Now that you have the list of Keywords you want to be found by, stay tuned for my next post which will talk about how to use them.
