This past November 14th, 2013 marked the day that my family - the Coverts - added a new member to our little clan. Clara Elaine Marie Covert was brought into this world on that special day and we cannot be happier.
Clara is our second child, with her older brother Griffin being the first. Griffin is 2 1/2 years old at the time of this blog entry, and he's the best big brother, ever. We couldn't be happier watching him help his baby sister whenever possible. The smile on his face when he met her for the first time in the hospital will stay with us forever. It was like they were instant best friends.
As anyone with children will attest to, raising them can be a challenge. My wife and I are both very serious people, so we try to keep things under control whenever possible, but we're also realistic and know that play time is one of the most important times in a child's upbringing. There isn't a moment in the Covert house when you won't hear giggling, laughing or silliness going on. It's the best of both worlds - or so we like to think!
I'm sure you might have guessed this by now, if you've read any of my past blog entries, but I'm also really looking forward to teaching them both a little bit about what I do (and maybe how I do it, too). Griffin has already taken to learning about all of the devices in our home, and how to use quite a few of them. Clara will soon follow suit, I imagine. I might just have a couple of little coders running around this place, if I play my cards right!
I'll leave the anecdotes about teaching our children computing at a young age for another blog entry. For now, I'm just going to enjoy bringing up my beautiful, newborn daughter and my handsome, toddler son.
Life is great!
