Hello ,
It’s been a while since we spoke, and I wanted to let you know what we have been up to. Things are very busy at REM.
We continue to provide custom designed websites for our clients that allow them to easily manage their content using our extremely easy to use CMS, “WebWiz@rd”.
We have recently had our design team certified in Inclusive Design which gives them the certification and skills required to design and develop websites that require AODA WGAC 2.0 Level AA compliance.
If you are not aware, in 2005, the Ontario government passed the AODA Act (S.O. 2005, c. 11) making it mandatory for businesses to become accessible to people with disabilities. As part of that law, Public and Private sector businesses with 50 or more employees must have their websites AODA compliant by Jan. 1, 2021, or face fines of up to $100,000.00 per day for businesses and Executives can be further fined of up to $50,000.00 per day individually.
I thought it would be useful to let you know about this law to see if you have any clients that would fit these requirements. We are finding that most companies that do have this requirement do not even know about it and will be at risk soon.
Please let me know if you would be interested in discussing this further.
Sincerely,
Rob
